It is harvested from deep underground ancient mineral deposit of Naturally occurring Sodium Carbonate & Bicarbonate. The mix is brought to the surface where a simple filtering, refining and curing process produces a premium Food & USP Grade Aluminium Free Sodium Bicarbonate. Isn't that refreshing to know !
Natural Sodium Bicarb is sourced from the same region that the popular and ultra expensive non-organic BRM Bicarb is sourced without the extravagant price tag.

is a secondary product of Soda Ash, derived from natural deposits or man-made.
The natural deposits are called Trona and are reported to be ancient mineral deposits in the Green River, Wyoming region 450km below the surface that was once covered by an enormous lake. As the lake evaporated it left behind a deposit of Trona between sandstone and shale said to be so large it could provide the world for thousands years.
The Trona Ore is brought to the surface, refined into slurry containing both Soda Ash and Sodium Bicarbonate. The crystals and liquid are separated in a centrifuge. The crystals are then dissolved in a bicarbonate solution and then filtered to remove any non-soluble material. Purified carbon dioxide is fed into the filtered solution with the resulting reaction forming Sodium Bicarbonate. The Sodium Bicarbonate is held in holding bins where it cures, then packaged and shipped.
There you have it, a simple production from nature to package !

Alkalising to neutralise body acid
We receive many calls from folk asking about using our Bicarb for alkalising. If you are looking for a Bicarb / Baking Soda as a safe soda
to use internally to alkalise your body by buffering acid, then you could not find a better Bicarb to do so. Alkalisation is something we at Blants have been interested in for many years. Neutralising excess body acid is reported to be very beneficial for our health. To neutralise acid, one should start with eliminating the possible causes of acid, such as junk food, alcohol, coke, coffee etc. Try to destress and take time out to reflect & meditate. Eating lots of leafy greens will definitely help buffer acids. Baking Soda is a quick, inexpensive, effective method of alkalising the body offering immediate results.
Alkalising needs to be done correctly. Many folk who are introduced to alkalising take Bicarb Soda / Baking Soda with no idea what their body pH is ! We need to know the pH of our body so we know how much to take, and how often to take it, and when enough is enough ! We are aiming for a pH of 7 to 7.5. Litmus strips are available online, or from some pharmacies, or health food stores will provide us with the base information required to know how much Bicarb to take. Litmus strips work by changing colour when urinated on, and provide a clear indication of our body pH.
Baking Soda / Bicarb contains Sodium, thus the name Sodium Bicarbonate. When Baking Soda is consumed so is Sodium. We suggest when taking Baking Soda to alkalise to be aware it does affect your body sodium levels. The question may be - Is Baking Soda safe soda ? Many folk who have used it as an alkaliser have reported a depletion in a variety of chromic disease symptoms without side effects.
An alternate alkalising salt for those who are unable to use Sodium Bicarbonate are Tri Salts, which are a combination of either of these three alkalising minerals, Potassium, Magnesium, and Calcium as Carbonates or Bicarbonates, and work in the same manner as Sodium Bicarbonate does.
